Lots to tell!

Some happenings during the summer months:
BIG Birthday party for Nick's 30 th, spanking machine and all.

Camping with the crew in Manistee.

Curriculum Academy @ KHPS... all day, for 5 days!
The one and only family trip to Mackinac, good times. I did not do any sweet tricks like last year, where my I fell off my bike, and my pants went with it.
But, I got a new shirt:

Kid Rocks in the House!

That would be 1 of my favorite songs by Kid Rock... Cowboy!
The concert was great, Kid always puts on a good show. Nick and I had an awesome time in the rain. For real! Good Show!

Some more photos:

A true Kid Rock fan will appreciate these videos... even though they are such high quality!

Did I mention Rev. Run?

Super cool show! Some really poorly taken video to help you relive the experience with us...

Mud!

As the evening went on... mud sliding was becoming a highlight of the night. I know it's a bit hard to see, but be patient. I think you may laugh.

Little bit of everything...

Time never stops, it just flies right on by. I'm trying to think of what's been keeping us busy...
The garden, this seems to be never-ending. I could spend a whole week, all day working out there. It has become to overwhelm me. I did some weeding this morning, I've picked tons of green beans and lots of tomatos. Nick planted this garden and is so proud of it, I'm officially promising myself to not step into the garden again. He should be able to care for it, without me getting in the way.

Let me show you some produce first:

GVSU class: Comprehension and Fluency
This was a 1 week class I took up in Traverse City. Thanks so much to Uncle Doug and Aunt Judi, Ali and I stayed at their condo for the week. Thank goodness Grandma came up on Wednesday morning, the days in class were long and Ali tended to get bored during the day. This class was the most difficult class I've had to take so far in the Masters program. Lots of work, short amount of time to process it and complete it. Yet, 1 class closer to that Masters Degree, which also comes with a pretty good raise!

No worries...

As a mother of a teenager, I say no worries in comparison to my sister and her THREE boys.
One has been sitting in his room all morning cause he refuses to wear underwear... another is yelling and screaming and hitting and demanding everyones attention.

Meanwhile the oldest asks, "Mom, was it a lot easier to be a Mom when you only had me?"
BINGO!

I thought I was going to have a really relaxing day, (Ali comes home from camp tomorrow.) I am on my way to the mad-house. aka... my sister's!

8 days...

It took 8 days till the tree found a new home. Notice the dirt marks as the tree was dragged away...
Thank you to whoever took the tree!

Friday, June 13, 2008

What now?

Now, the follow-up... What am I going to do with this tree? Of course, put in the front yard, someones going to pick it up sooner or later.
"Free Tree," who can pass that up? It is Bridge Street!

Yardwork!

Now that schools is out, I have time to work in my yard. We usually camp all summer, but this year we are laying low. My neglected yard needs some "tender lovin care." So, let's start with a successful tree removal...

Congratulations to Derek DeYoung!

Recently, a good friend and fellow angler (of Nick's... as I copied this from his blog.) Derek Deyoung has achieved something that few can say they have done. He was awarded the cover of Gray's Sporting Journal. http://grayssportingjournal.com/

Congratulations, Derek! You deserve it more than anyone!

School Fund-raiser...

Gotta say: "Way to Go" to my students!
We were given this assignment by the Family Council (PTO). A request that look my teaching partner and I a while to get into, but... when we did, the kids took off.

The Results!

Each class was to create a "themed basket" that would be auctioned off at the spagetti dinner. Our class collected donations and raised money to fill our basket with goodies. Some example basket titles were: "Hockey Night Out" "Scrapbooking Fun" "Spring Cleaning(which included 2 donated Bissell vacuums)" "A wii" and SO MUCH MORE!

Although each team only needed to create one basket, we had so much stuff, we split it and made two "baskets" One "basket" is the tent and the other "basket" is the airondeck chair. Both were jammed pack of fun stuff... to much to list!
Good Job!

Child-proof.....

Last night I watched my 3 sweet nephews. The coolest thing in the house was the magnets on the fridge. At their house, their way cool stainless steel fridge does not have the magnetic force as mine does. So...the boys thought the best thing at Krissy's house was the PowerPuff Girl magnet and the New Orleans magnet.

Although Levi claims that "we have this at our house Krissy. Krissy, we have this at our house too, Krissy." The kid is wrong.

Now, Samuel is "the child of wrath" he has no problem putting a pen, a scissors, his crackers, and who knows what else in his juice. Mind you, the kid is falling off the kitchen stool as he is doing all this.

Boys! I'm glad my sisters bore the boys of the family.

Nascar...

I have some extra time, just a little.
I'm waiting for the race to start at 3:30 pm. Good times!

In the meantime, did I mention the Talent Show I was in? I made a fool of myself, as I was set up to play 2 different instruments, one in each hand. One instrument I had to shake, the other I had to tap on my leg. Um... yea, try doing that. It doesn't work to well, I either had to shake, or tap, I could not do both!

Well my students liked it... they all laughed.

Talk about talent... wait till you see Ali's pictures from the Jonas Brothers Concert. Her seats were awesome! Thank you Uncle Don and Uncle Rich for being the best uncles!

A preview...

Remember the "Amazing Mom's" post?
The time has come... The kid will be rockin' with the Jonas Brothers in less than 2 days.

Uncle Don and Uncle Rich are escorting their favorite niece to the concert. A preview of the nights attire...

Have Fun Boys!
