Nascar...

I have some extra time, just a little.
I'm waiting for the race to start at 3:30 pm. Good times!

In the meantime, did I mention the Talent Show I was in? I made a fool of myself, as I was set up to play 2 different instruments, one in each hand. One instrument I had to shake, the other I had to tap on my leg. Um... yea, try doing that. It doesn't work to well, I either had to shake, or tap, I could not do both!

Well my students liked it... they all laughed.

Talk about talent... wait till you see Ali's pictures from the Jonas Brothers Concert. Her seats were awesome! Thank you Uncle Don and Uncle Rich for being the best uncles!

A preview...

Remember the "Amazing Mom's" post?
The time has come... The kid will be rockin' with the Jonas Brothers in less than 2 days.

Uncle Don and Uncle Rich are escorting their favorite niece to the concert. A preview of the nights attire...

First Haircut!

This is my nephew, Sammy Baby, absolutely thrilled to get his first haircut.
Oh... we can't call him Sammy baby anymore. The child went to the Dr. for his 18 month check-up... and the Dr. says he is growing well.
He is the size of a 3 year old!

And to think my sister, all 100lbs. of her, bore this child?

Enough Already!

I am referring to my sister's lastest blog entry. (Notice: there is a link to her sweet site ...)

Enough already! Another Snow Day today! This is the 4th snow day in 2 weeks.
As a teacher, I enjoy it, I like the day off. The downside is when I walk into my classroom the next day and realize how much I have to complete in such little time. Try packing in 2 days of lessons in 1 day... especially after the kids had a snow day... and are bouncing off the walls!

Yet, another day off school... the trade may be fair.

So... what am I going to do today. There is so much to be done around the house, however, I never want to start a project, like painting, when I only have a short time to work.
Well... if I had known we would have snow day after snow day I would have begun those projects. (Yep... you're right. Who am I kidding!)

I think today my kid will force to me to finally see the "Hannah Montana: The Best of Both Worlds Tour" movie. The kid says... "You keep pushing it back (the time when we are to see the movie) that when we finally go, it won't be showing anymore. Why are you ruining my life... (and there it goes from there)"

I may have to break down and go see "Hannah Montana: The Best Of Both Worlds Tour" movie today. I think napping through the show will be impossible with the kid next to me. I'm sure she will be singing out loud, stating that "this is my favorite song" everytime a new song is played.
I just hope her mothers blood doesn't show through... and she doesn't stand on her chair and go crazy!!!!

Enough already... I'm going back to bed!

New post:

I've gotten away with posting pictures... and pulling it off as a post. I guess I am not fooling anyone. Would I dare say that someone asked me to write something instead of posting pictures of my dogs? My dogs? Now that's rude!

I cannot think of much to say... same thing going on here, just a different day. Ali just finished the basketball season, now we are into softball, and pitching lessons. Gotta get ahead of the game... even though softball doesn't start till June!

In 4 months the kid will be graduating from 8th grade and heading to high school in the fall. I attended an open house at Calvin H.S. Lots have changed since my days there... yet, not much as changed.

Ali is excited to start there... I had a hard time walking through the door. My memories of high school, of that high school, are getting in the way of my daughter's anticipation and excitement for high school.

I'm trying to decide which wise quote from my Mother fits this:
"This too shall pass."
or
"The Lord has a plan."
or
"It's all in God's timing."
or
"The Lord will never give you more than you can handle."
or... there are many others.
My Mom's the best at stating these supportive quotes at the right time.

Okay... help me out. What's a good quote for turning your child over to a whole new world, and "It's part of being a Mother" is not going to fly...

Best friends...

Are they not the best?

A teenager's room...

Help me out here...

Is this typical for a teenage girl's bedroom?

What do you think?
