I love the English language!

Made it safely home, after a long day of travel. Right now it is midnight in Detroit, Michigan. We are at a Hampton Inn cause we thought we would be exhausted, and not able to drive home. If you ask Nick, he'll tell you I'm already a great driver, and I'd probably be an even better driver with ZERO hours of sleep.
But... we are in the USA!

Long and stressful day of travel. We arrived at Warsaw airport at 10 am, our plan left at 12:10pm. 2 hours, plently of time... Wrong! The place was packed, about 1,000 people all trying to check-in through 1 gate. It was a disaster.
Nick and I just calmly (who's kidding there) watched the clock.

You know me I can't sit for a minute, so I am running all over, trying to be real nice and get people to let us cut in line, as it is now noon. Finally someone takes us seriously, and passes us through. We check in and guess what... no surprise, (as it happened on the way here) Nick's bag is overweight.

With 2 minutes till our plane leaves, I tear open his suitcase, and start pulling stuff out. I'm thinking we'll put the extra stuff in his already jammed backpack. You know, the backpack that we searched all over town for yesterday, cause he knew he would be overweight.
Ends up, here I am in the airport throwing clothing everywhere. (not sure what Nick is doing now... maybe checking to be sure his vudka didn't break in his suitcase)

Ends up the clothes that I am tearing out of Nick's suitcase, and jamming into the backpack, is his underwear. Poor Nick, his drawers were already all over the airport before he realized what I was doing.
Well, finally his bag was only 3 pounds over and they let him slide.

Long story short, with sweat pouring off our bodies, and after we ticked everyone off by cutting through customs and security, as we are in a huge hurry. We get to the gate, and of course... 1 hour delay.
It took me about the entire 9 hour flight to get calmed down.
BUT... we made it!

That's not all, I won't even get onto the drama in Chicago where we were not able to bring our sealed alcohol bottles on the plane, they had to be checked. No problem, we'll put them in one of our carry-ons, check it, and be good to go.
Umm... no. It has to be a hard cased suitcase, so these grown men and their vodka decide that they will go to another bag checker in-er, and just "not mention what's inside"
Jeeezzzz... Isn't Nick the one who says I push the limits, and have to test everything and everyone.

It is 1:15am here in MI, which is 7:15am in Poland, the time I have been used to for the last 12 days. Maybe I should go to bed.... probably a good idea.
I think this jet-leg thing may hit me hard... Yet, I have all these plans for tomorrow, clean the offices, see my family...

Can't wait to see Tyler, my newest nephew. In his pictures, he reminds me alot of baby Ali, and Marsha's boys. I'll have to take baby pictures with me to compare. I'm so excited to meet that sweet boy, he is perfect.
Warning to Richard.... yes, I will be in tears when I come over. It will be one of those menatl pictures that you'll have to file in the "Crazy Kristy" file of your brain!

Nick and I reflected on our trip... we are speachless. Amazing trip. Amazing country. Amazing God we have. What an experience. I take for granted all I have, even my job, of course. Yet, I see, this is God's plan, he reigns over everything. Even though I had the biggest stress of my life (almost missing our plane) I see now that He was in control and always is. I need to remember that I am not in control all the time. As my Mother Dearest says: "The Lord has a Plan!"

Love you, See you all in 10 - 12 hours! Praise God for safety and for his beautiful creation. His work is unbelievable! Our God is an Awesome God!!!

Last post till I'm in USA

Hello,
Great day today spent in Warsaw. We walked 25+ miles, for real. The fact that I don't know how to read a map, but was sure we were going the right way, therefore, not letting Nick see the map. (I was so positive!)
Well, I was wrong... Thank goodness for my very patient boyfriend. He never complained once. (well... maybe once.)

It is 10:15pm here, we are just getting back to our hotel, which is across the street. We have been gone since noon... walking! That means it is 4:15pm in Michigan.
(We also had to find a durable bag to bring home with us, I think we may have bought to much!)

I wanted to update my plans for home:
-Tomorrow, we fly out of Warsaw at noon. We will land in Chicago at 9pm, which is 3pm Michigan time.
-We have a 3 hour lay over in Chicago.
-We fly out of Chicago at 6:15 MI time.
-We land in Detroit at 7:30 pm MI time.

-Remember, that is now 1:30am for me. (Poland time)
-Nick's mother has us in a hotel for the night, then will pick us up in the am by noon.
-Mick will drive 2 hours home... then...
I'LL BE OVER TO SEE MY NEW NEPHEW! Plan on it Kelly! About 3pm on Sunday.

I'll also call Ali as soon as I can... Love you.

Friday Morning!

We are so close to the end of our trip, unbelievable! The experiences have been amazing. Nick told me this morning I should sell my trailer, and do world trips like this with Ali every summer. What an experience for her that would be. I said, "No, camping is a real experience for her, and Hunter and Crickett get to go with us." I think Nick often has a more global mind set than me. I'm content living in my sister's old house, with my siblings close by.

Daughter, siblings, and brother/sister-in-laws, Mother Dearest, Father and my closest friends: the time away is a real awakening as to how important family/friends are. Words can't explain how important you are to me. You are all my rock!
Mother keeps me in line. Sarah keeps me down to earth. Ali brings joy and happiness, along with some rough times, but it is worth it.
Siblings...unexplainable!
Kathy, my second mother, I love you so much. I know I left others out, doesn't mean I have forgotten you.
(Means Nick gave me a time limit in the Internet Cafe today!)

I'm going to try to post some sightseeing photos. I havent figured out how to give them descriptions, but I shall make a sweet slide show when I get home, and a photobook for Grandma, and others who can't view this greatest blog on earth.

Okay, not now... this computers USB doesn't work. That seems to have been the problem all along.

Hope you enjoy my rambling... I wonder who reads, as I rarely recieve comments. (hint, hint)
Love you all, Kris and Nick

Thursday Night

Here I am, my last leg of the trip. It is Thursday night at 11:00 pm. We rode the train for 3 hours from Krakow to get here. Beautiful views the whole way. We are staying at the Westin Inn. WOW! Try searching it online, Sorry nick, but it blows the Amway away. Although he would agree with me.

Today was an amazing day. We viewed the Aushwitcz Camps today. Unexplainable! We had a great time, yet, I don't know if "great time" is the appropiate word. Really can't explain it...
I'll try later, I'm still soaking it all in. I hope to post some pictures, amazing pictures for the Lipinski family. Warning, you will be speakless and shocked.

Sorry!

No pictures... I have tried so many times. Can not figure it out for the life of me. I guess you'll have to wait. Sorry, I am bummed cause I have so much to show....
Have patience Kristine!

Try this link....

Okay, I have been sitting here for 25+ minutes waiting for my pictures to load, and they are not even half done. Looks like this is what Nick and I will be doing tonight.

Tonight I hope to get a good sleep, in the am we head for Auschwitz. This is a day trip, I'm excited. We have to pack up our luggage, walk it over to the hotel office, then head back the opposite direction to meet for the tour. Afterwards we go back and get our luggage, then head back to wear we came from to hop the train to Warsaw.

Nick is here stressing out cause we don't have a hotel in Warsaw yet. I'm just minding my own business!

Okay, let's try the pictures. I'll try!
Love you!!!

Okay!

Not sure what happened before, the internet cafe was dumb, I don't think the keyboard worked.
Where to begin...
Train ride to Krakow. We left at 10:18 pm, rode through the night and arrived in Krokow at noon.
I slept the entire train ride, however, others in our party did not. They know the word "Polocia" (police) very well from our Nazi train conductor.

Krakow is huge. The main square itself has over 400 bars and restaurants. A huge square, can't explain it, you'll see soon. Our apartment is huge, almost as big as my house. Very modern, everything is from IKEA. Yes, IKEA is in Poland.
We have a bedroom, living room, dining room, bathroom with washer/dryer and a kitchen. WOW! Wait till you see.

Today, I think is Tuesday. We did a ton of walking, seriously probably 20+ miles. We headed toward the Wawel Castle, the capitol of Poland at one time. All kings ruled from here, in the day.

We headed down towards Kazimierz, a not so tourist town. It is all part of Krakow, yet seperate neighbors, etc. We visited the Jewish section of town. So very neat! Lots of remnants of the Jewish, WWII times. Old buildings, broken windows. Amazing. The ghetto walls were still in tack somewhat.
We visited many of the synogogues, and a cemetary. Just way cool!

It is now, I think 6:30 pm. Nick went back to our "apartment" and I am at a cafe right across the street from us. It is very modern, so I hope to post pictures, I'll try. Pretty hard when the whole blogsite is in Polish.

Tonight we have dinner with the whole group as 6 of them are leaving tomorrow. Tomorrow we will tour the Mountains, I forgot the name, then hopefully have time for the Salt Mines.
Thursday we head to Auschwictz for a day tour.

The trip is coming to an end... but what memories I will never forget.

Saw the baby pictures and the pictures of the one and only destructive Levite. I also cryed when I saw the picture of Ali holding Tyler.... Loved it!

And love you!

Krakow... Amazing

Baltic Sea

We just got back from a great trip to the Baltic Sea. I can't wait to look at a map, and see where that is. You know me and geography...

I found some sweet jewely for Ali, you will love it. I hope to post pictures soon, the sea was amazing.

We are at Kasia's parents house now. It is 7:30 pm. We will stay here a bit for some great food. You wouldn't believe the dishes, they are all so yummy. Soon we will go back to our hotel in Slupsk, get our luggage, and head for the train station. We have a 10 hour train ride until we arrive in Krakow. We got first class sleeper cars. I plan on sleeping the entire time.
Nick and I both feel like zombies. But, the wedding stuff is over, and it has left us with a huge relief, like finally we can relax.

Talk soon! Love you

Thank You Crystal!

My wonderful sister in law finally sent me pictures of Tyler. Thank you, he is adorable. So sad I can't be there with him. He's already so big, he'll be even bigger when I get home.

We are at Kasia's parents house now. Very cool house, reminds me of CA. This house is very old, with glass windows present from communist time. The flowers and landscaping are amazing. This is supposed to be a big party, but everyones pretty exhausted.

Nick just confirmed our reservations in Krakow, we mistakenly set them for Tuesday, although we will arrive on Monday. That Nick, quite a miracle worker. His nerves are getting really tested... but doing great. I think he does well handling a Lip....

Tomorrow after checkout, we head to the Baltic Sea for the day. At 10 pm we board a train for Krakow. So exciting, and having so much fun.
Love you, thanks for your prayers!
No go with pictures, will try later.

Tomorrow we leave for Krakow in the pm, and arrive in the morning. Krakow is a tourist town, things will be easier there... I hope.

Congrats!

I'll never forget Ben and Kasia's anniversary, as it was on the day Tyler Julian was born. I'm dieing to see pictures... Marsha hurry up!

The wedding was incredible. Major high class! Just amazing. The reception was amazing as well. The location was on a lake, with a walking bridge to get to the building. We all had a great time. We even made it through the whole event. Polish wedding celebrations last days, weeks...
The reception was 6pm to 6am. Although there was lots of wine, food, wine, food, vudka (as they say here) and more wine and food, I guess the BIG celebration is tonight at Kasia's parents house.
A humor I heard is that they have purchased, 70 bottles of vudka, 200 beers, and an imaginable numbers of bottles of wine.
Tonight may be a rough one.

I'm going to try and post pictures now. If you see my Tyler, give him a sweet kiss from aunti krissy.

I made it!

We made it after 24 hours of travel.  Left GR Tuesday at 2pm, arrived in Poland on Wednesday, 2pm.  That is GR time, which is 6 hours behind us.

Which also means my sister is probably having her baby!!
We flew 9 hours from Chicago to Warsaw, Poland.  Delayed for 3 hours, then flew From Warsaw To Gdansk, then rode a "Party Bus" 2 hours to Slupsk.  Slupsk is in north Poland, near the Baltic Sea.  (which we flew over)
Our hotel is great, very clean! Especially to Nick's standards, being the hotel guy he is.  I'll show pictures soon, I'm just so happy I found a computer.  We searched yesterday all day.  All we know how to say is "internet" then they point in a direction.  A direction that leads to nowhere.
This morning we are out for a walk, and find the library, how easy is that.
Can't explain Slopsk, somewhat poor and run down, but not really.  Most welloff people live out in the suburbs.  We are in the heart of the city.

Wednesday night after our arrival, Kasia's family had a wonderful meal for us at our hotel.  Chicken soup, pickeled cucumbers, rolled beef, and lots of wine.  I'm sure you can imagine what I ate.  Obviously no meat!

Thursday, they had breakfast for us at the hotel, then Kasia and Ben came to show us around town, very cool.  Nick and I and Ben's brothers and their girlfriends explored by ourselves.  At lunch, we pointed to something, all we know is that the top of the menu said Pizza.  We lucked out and got cheese pizza.

Language barrier is very frustarting, the Polish are quite rude with those that speak English.

Last night the groomsmen were picked up for rehearsal at 5:30, then we all (thirty people) had dinner.  Very large crowd as this is a double wedding.  One end of this massive table was Polish speaking, the other was English.  Poor Kasia had to go around with the waiter and translate.  Most everything is written in Polish, then English under it.

Well, rough night.  You know me, I somewhat lost it.  Thank God someone had an international phone, and I was able to call Kelly.  I would have called Ali, yet wasnt sure where she would be.
Kelly calmed me down a bit, but I could not go back in to eat my dinner.  Nick walked me back to the hotel, and I crashed.  Slept 12 hours last night.
Better off I did, as everyone was out till 4am.

Today the wedding is at 4pm.  then the BIG party begins.  The reception is from 6pm to 6am.  Mmmm... I may lose it again.

Very exciting things to see, definately a well worth trip. I am enjoying myself, totally relaxed except for last night.  We are with a great group of people.  Ben's family from Michigan, and of course, aunties and Grandma.
Fun people!

Few odd things, hotel rooms have 2 single beds.  Bottled water is bubbly soda water, everyone is dressed up, and walking in high heels.  Everyone walks, and walks.  I wonder where they are all going?

Jr, I have many pictures of the crazy cars for you, you will laugh so hard.
Ali, all dogs are mixed, and tiny.  They walked next to their owner, no leash.  Just follow their owner everywhere.  If they go into a store, the dog waits outside.  I don't think they have names, as they always call them "Doggie" or "Dog"  When they exit a store, they say "Come on doggie."  Lots of Weiner Dogs, and Jack Russels.  Never anything as big as Hunty and Crickey. Oh, my baby girl and big boy...

Ben's friend from NY has a picture of his dog, I don't.  Not smart... I miss them, but not as much as I miss Ali.  We will returm when you are older.  A great adventure for you.

Okay, signing off for now.  So, so glad I found a computer.  I hope you are all okay.  I'm praying hard core for Kelly Lynn.  Can't wait to see Tyler.
I must go now as I am tearing up, and can't see the keyboard.

Having a great time, am safe, not married (which isn't funny people) and amazed at Gods creation.
Love you Ali, and all.
Kristine

I'm Off!

It's time... time to head over seas. Wow, am I nervous. It's the evening before I leave and I'm just thinking about all I will miss at home.
I know, I know... everyone has been telling me to relax, and enjoy the vacation. If you know me, I DON'T relax... ever. All day I feel like I have been running around at 100 mph.
I hope as soon as I get on the airplane, peace will overcome me. Pray for peace! and safety! and ... I could go on and on.
Oh, and pray for my baby sister, this baby is not coming before I leave, and I am bummed. I have spent the entire day with Kelly, just hoping that if I had her running at 100 mph with me, Tyler may arrive. No go!
Okay, I think I have made a big enough drama about this vacation. Time to relax and do a lot of talking to God.
See you soon!

How do you say that in Polish?

As you know, our departure to Poland is coming.... Fast! 2 Days. We'll leave on Tuesday afternoon, drive to Detroit, fly to Chicago, then straight to Poland.
Wouldn't you all love to be on a plane with me for 15 hours? I'm sure your jeolous of Nick, all wishing you were him. Right?

Which leads to me to... Nick. I got some grief from friends stating I talked about my daughter, my dogs, but NEVER meantion my boyfriend.
Well, Nick is my boyfriend. Duh?
I am traveling to Poland with him to attend his bestest friends wedding. What a great time to have a boyfriend!
(I'm kidding Nick!)

I'm a bit nervous about the trip. It's a big one, I'll be so far away... I really just wish my Mom was going. Don't Moms make everything better?
But, she's not... cause I'm 30 years old. What that has to do with it... I'm not sure, but that is what everyone says.
I'm also extremely upset to be missing the birth of my baby sisters first child. Tyler Julian was due last Thursday, the 14th. He is as stubborn as a Lip.... can be, and has not come yet.
Well, Tyler you got until Tuesday at noon to arrive... After that, I will never forget how stubborn you were, don't you wanna come out and meet your Aunt Krissy before she goes to Poland?

Below is a sweet website for you to visit, it's about the wedding. I'm hoping to figure out how to post pictures, so when I am in Poland, I can keep you updated.
http://www.wedding2007.net/
However, you know me, I'm not to good at getting things done, especially on time. I apologize if you see nothing about my trip till August!

21 hours!

21 hours... of what? Of SCHOOL! That would be 2 full days, and 2 half days. Bonus day tomorrow as we have a "KickBall Tournament" all day. Our class chose our team color to be... PINK!

I'll let you know how it goes, I'm really good at kickball (for real). I'm even good at sliding, tomorrow I will be wearing Ali's pink softball softs pulled to my knees to match my attire. Can't you picture it now...

Craziness!!! as always this week.
Just to name a few requirements that must be accomplished:

Report Cards - Uugghhhhh. (Being the end of the year, I have to write sweet little notes on each. I hate lieing.)
Pack up my ENTIRE classroom - O yea! I'm now a 6th grade teacher.
Report my outcomes - Pretty much state the numbers of students that failed each standard I taught.
Clean my trailer - Yep, still hasn't been cleaned since our Spring Break Adventure to North Carolina. What an adventure that was!
Pack my trailer - As I leave for Pentwater on Friday.
Of Course - Cleaning - My enjoyable weekend job! I guess I'll have to do it Thursday and Friday as we leave on Friday. Mmmmm....... not sure how that will work out?
Create an entire Science Unit - Come up with some really good science B.S. to present to my fellow grad students next weekend.
Get my hernia taken out - That will be fun!
Finally - My car really needs an oil change... Bad!

Typical week... and you wonder why I am "highly medicated!"
ha ha ha!

My lazy dog Hunter...

Well... Okay!

My first AND last entry has failed. So, here I am! There are just so many exciting things going on, I thought it may be time to blog. I'm hoping someone comes and at least reads this.

Update: "It's the Final Countdown!" Yes, 3 full days and 2 half days of school left. Honestly, this year flew. Of course, I still hate my job.
Thank God for summer! Let the Camping Season Begin!

Ali and I are both ready for some major relaxation time. I've just completed my 2nd year teaching 5th grade, Language Arts and Social Studies. What a joy this year as been. Not really. The office staff was talking about scheduling next year, and since I am moving to 6th grade, teaching the same subjects, they commented on making my class a "loopey." As they laughed, I laughed. Having no idea what a "loopey" is... Well, I will NOT be doing a "loopey," as that means all my students from this school year are placed in my classroom next year. NOT even funny! No "loopeys" here.
Ali... my daughter I bore 13 years ago. Mmmm... another joy in my life. Sometimes. How can one prepare for a teenager? Lord, help me! In 5 days, she will be an 8th grader, then a year later, she will be a FRESHMAN in high school. I have never prayed to God so much in my life... and she still thinks I am "trying to ruin her life!"
Motherhood!
